To Catch A Thief (1955)

Cineplex is running a series of old movies for only $6 during the month and so we caught the 1955 To Catch A Thief starting Grace Kelly and Cary Grant. Directed by Alfred Hitchock. It’s about a former cat burglar John Robie (Grant) who is suspected of a recent string of jewel heists from wealthy women vacationing in the French Riviera and despite his retirement he must prove he’s innocent and catch the real thief. Along the way he meets Frances Stevens (Kelly) who is the daughter of one of the thief’s victims and together they try to solve the crime and fall in love. Typical movie of its type for the time but still enjoyable today by audiences everywhere. Grace Kelly is particularly lovely in it as she always is.

There’s a whole slew of other movies I’d love to see again (or never go to see) on the big screen.
