I definitely have to say X-Men: First Class is first class!!! The is no denying the great chemistry between James McAvoy (Charles Xavier/Professor X) and Michael Fassbender (Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto). Both were superb in the roles: McAvoy's portrayal of complete belief in good of humanity despite their reactions to "superhumans" and Fassbender's portrayal of deep seated pain and suffering at Nazis hands got me hook, line, and sinker. It was also fun to watch the younger 'supers" try to learn how to harness their growing powers especially Havok and Banshee....hilarious. Thrill ride from one moment to the next. Jennifer Lawrence does a great job as the younger Raven/Mystic. You can't help but feel compassion for her as she deals with her low self esteem because of her "superhuman appearance". I was completely surprised by the way Hank turned into Beast (some kind of serum)...I didn't know that part of the 'comic' and also I didn't know how Xavier became paralyzed but McAvoy brought tears to my eyes when he was calling out "I can't feel my legs" and the look on Fassbender's face when Erik realizes it's his fault that it happened was heart wrenching. Lots of excellent scenes that are a must watch....look for this classic and most comedic moment in the film....a cameo by Hugh Jackman aka Wolverine = priceless.
Even if you don't like comic book to screen adaptations you have to go see it if only for McAvoy's performance alone. Trust me you will not be disappointed!
So what are you waiting for I'm not telling you anymore....go see it now!
