Spartacus: Blood and Sand

Just finished watching the season finale of Spartacus: Blood and Sand. I love this show despite the mega violence. I think gorgeous Andy Whitfield more than makes up for the loss of warrior Ronon Dex (Jason Momoa) on Stargate: Atlantis whose character I miss dreadfully.

I cried a few episodes back when Spartacus was forced to kill his best friend and fellow gladiator Varro on the whim of a Roman teenager or rather manipulation at Livinia's hand (shows how the rich had absolute power over poor/slaves) due to her hatred of Spartacus and wish to see him suffer the loss of a most trusted friend/brother when it should have been just a fight to a draw with his nemesis Krixcus instead of Varro.

Tonight's episode was particularly violent but in the end the revolt as history has already foretold happened and I was glad some of the characters finally saw the light in the corruption of their Dominus! Now we shall wait to see what happens next season. I read there was a go ahead for Season 2 but at the same time Andy Whitfield was diagnosed with cancer which they caught early and is undergoing treatment and so Season 2 will resume when he's well again. My prayers are with him.

You should watch this show if you can! The character of Spartacus is a Thracian and has long hair then he is made a slave/gladiator and his hair is cut off....bastards why did they cut the pretty pretty hair? Enjoy...
