TV hiatus

Decided to just relax tonight after the craziness of work this past week. TV sure has changed since I was a kid...just what is all this hiatus crap? TV shows used to air episodes up until 2 weeks before Christmas. They'd have their Christmas episode and then back in the new year. Now shows break for anywhere from 8 weeks to 4 months or more. What gives? Everyone at the networks gone crazy? Srsly sure way to loose fans is to let them get interested in another show because yours is on too long a break. I don't think network executives get that....

Shows going into crazy hiatus...

Vampire Diaries = 8 weeks back in January 2010

V - back in March 2010 after Olympics!!!

Fringe - 11 week starting in February 2010

At least I'm almost caught up on Supernatural. I still have 1or 2 episodes to watch and I may have missed 1 or 2. Thankfully the show recaps so I can catch up easily. The Big Bang Theory is still airing episodes and so is Bones and Gossip Girl. Not sure tho' about Ghost Whisperer.. Although I have no idea if these shows will be going into hiatus soon. Also not going to count reality TV such as SYTYCD America and American Idol which should start shortly.

Shows which are already on break but I have no idea when they return are:

The Mentalist

At least all this break time gives me the opportunity to watch Being Erica. Episodes can be found on CBC website.

Also have officially given up on Stargate Universe. This saddens me that the show is just not up to par compared to SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. It's more like Battlestar Galactica in style plus the characters on SU are just not that interesting. Am still giving the second season of Sanctuary a chance but killing off Ashley has left a hole in the show I didn't see coming. Strange how that happened. I wished they'd show more of Tesla & Ripper. They are interesting characters...ok I admit it..I like the Big Guy too!!!

Speaking of interesting characters....Eastwick's Roxy is my fav character on TV right now. I really love this show and although rat bastards at ABC canceled it which was just stupid as the show is awesome! I do commend them for continuing to air all 13 episodes and when it goes to DVD it will be a definite purchase. It's soooo much better than the movie!

At least in January I have the last season of Lost to look forward too! And in the summer Friday Night Lights comes back although without Riggins I'm just not sure what it will be like.

Did I miss any?
